Junk car makes we buy
Which car makes does Gold Cash for Junk Cars buy?
All of them. Gold Cash for Junk Cars buys junk cars, pickups, vans and SUVs of every make, plus motorcycles, RVs and campers, box trucks and semis, around Calumet City and nearby towns. The brand matters less than the vehicle's size, what's still on it and the papers; we tow free and pay at pickup.
The groups below follow what we see on streets and driveways from the East Side down to Sauk Village. Under each one is what's worth mentioning on the call for that kind of vehicle, so the number you hear is the number you're paid.
Japanese makes
Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Lexus, Acura, Infiniti
- Hybrids such as the Prius, Camry Hybrid and Accord Hybrid carry a large high-voltage battery. Tell us whether it is still in the car, because it is part of what we're buying.
- Many of these cars reach us running but with a big repair ahead. If that's yours, our guide to a blown engine or failed transmission helps you weigh the estimate first.
American makes
Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, Dodge, Ram, Jeep, Chrysler, Buick, Cadillac, Lincoln, Pontiac, Mercury, Saturn
- This group includes most of the full-size pickups and SUVs on south suburban driveways. Their extra weight usually helps the offer; see junk trucks, vans and SUVs.
- Discontinued brands like Pontiac, Mercury and Saturn are fine. The brand being gone doesn't change how a junk car is valued.
Korean makes
Hyundai, Kia, Genesis
- Push-button models need the fob to shift out of park. If the fob is lost, say so; we still buy the car, and our no-keys guide explains what changes at pickup.
- Hybrid versions carry a high-voltage battery too, so mention whether it's present.
European makes
Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volvo, Mini, Porsche, Land Rover, Jaguar, Fiat
- Repair estimates on older European cars can run past the car's value quickly. Get the written estimate Illinois requires for work over $100, then compare it with our offer.
- Keyless entry and fobs are common here as well; tell us if you don't have one.
Motorcycles
Harley-Davidson, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, BMW, Triumph, Indian, Ducati
- Illinois titles motorcycles, off-road ones included, so have the title ready. Details are on our junk motorcycle page.
RVs and commercial vehicles
Motorhomes on Ford, Chevrolet and Freightliner chassis; travel trailers, fifth wheels and pop-ups of any brand; box trucks and semis from Freightliner, International, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Volvo, Mack, Isuzu and Hino
- For a motorhome, tell us the chassis make as well as the coach brand. A towable camper has its own Illinois title. See junk RVs and campers.
- For a truck, the size and what's still on it (engine, box, liftgate, trailer) matter more than the badge. See box trucks and semis.
Not sure what to tell us?
Year, make, model and whether you have the title is all the form asks. Add anything that's missing or broken when we call back. For how weight and missing parts shape the number, read what a junkyard pays. Then request your offer or call (708) 578-8868.
Questions people ask
- Is there any make you don't buy?
- No. Any make and model counts, foreign or domestic, old or new, as long as it's a car, pickup, van, SUV, motorcycle, RV, camper or commercial vehicle in our Illinois pickup area.
- Does the make change the offer?
- Less than people think. Weight, completeness, whether it runs and the papers matter most. A heavy pickup usually beats a small car, whatever the badge says.
- My car is missing its catalytic converter. Do you still want it?
- Yes. Tell us it's gone, since a converter is one of the parts that adds value, and the offer will reflect the car as it is.
- What if I don't know the exact model or year?
- Read it off the title or registration, or look at the VIN plate on the dashboard by the windshield. A close guess on the form is fine; we confirm on the call.
